Meet the Providers!

CHARLENE BLACHE
Owner, Lead Pediatrician • MD, FAAP
Dr. Blache is a Board-Certified Pediatrician who is originally from Trinidad and Tobago in the eastern Caribbean. She came to the United States in 1995 and in 1998 completed her Pediatric Residency Training at Brooklyn Hospital Center in New York. She moved to South Georgia in 1999 and started practicing in Quitman, GA. She is married to Dr. Larry Smith and they have one son, Lawrence. She attends Woodlawn Forrest Church of Christ where she is known as a giver, helper and encourager. Being a pediatrician allows her to exercise those spiritual gifts daily. Her favorite charity is the Boys and Girls Club; she is a board member for Boys and Girls Club of Brooks County. She enjoys caring for all children from birth to eighteen years, and is looking forward to meeting and caring for your children.

KEREESE GAYLE
Pediatrician • MD, FAAP
Dr. Gayle is a Board-Certified Pediatrician who is originally from Jamaica in the Caribbean. She graduated from the Latin American School of Medicine in Havana, Cuba and is thus fluent in Spanish. She completed her Pediatric Residency Training at the Children’s Hospital of New Jersey in Newark.
She has been a part of the Southern Pediatric Clinic family since 2015. She is the Social Media Director and also serves our newborn patients as a Certified Lactation Counselor. Her hobbies include spending time with family, travel, and learning to cook new things. She loves working with children of all ages and can’t wait to get to know your family!

VIRGINIA COCHRAN
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Virginia has been with Southern Pediatric Clinic since 2004. She received her specialized Pediatric Nurse Practitioner degree from Emory University. She grew up in Valdosta and is now raising four children with her husband Edward. The Cochrans are involved at Park Avenue United Methodist Church, the United Way and Valdosta City Schools. Her hobbies include gardening and working out with her whole family at CrossFit Winnersville. Virginia loves working with children and looks forward to meeting and working with yours soon!

ELIZABETH BURNS
Certified Nurse Practitioner
Elizabeth joined the SPC team in 2012. She is a Certified Nurse Practitioner who received her specialized pediatric degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Shortly after finishing her degree, she moved back home to Valdosta where she was born and raised. She and her husband, Jonathan, have two children and are active members of First United Methodist Church. Elizabeth has always had a special interest in the health and well being of the children in our area and works behind the scenes to ensure that Southern Pediatric Clinic offers the highest quality care to patients.

JENNIFER CASON
Family Nurse Practitioner
Meet Jennifer Cason. She is a AANP board certified Family Nurse Practitioner, who received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Nursing at Valdosta State University. She started working as a registered nurse at South Georgia Medical Center in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit in 2016 and joined the team at Southern Pediatric Clinic in 2020. She has lived in the Valdosta area for about nine years. She enjoys reading and spending time outdoors with her husband Andrew and their three children (Aaron, Oliver, and Elijah). Her professional interests include pediatrics, neurology, and cardiology. Prior to becoming a registered nurse, Jennifer worked in Youth Care at SGMC and looks forward to working with children again!

CANDICE ROBINSON
Family Nurse Practitioner
Candice Robinson is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Valdosta State University in 2014 and earned her Master of Science in Nursing at South University in Savannah, Georgia in 2020. Candice grew up in Lakeland, Georgia. She moved to Valdosta in 2015 with her husband, Harry, and their two sons, Caleb and Porter. Candice joined the Southern Pediatric Clinic family in 2021. Her hobbies include spending time with her family, traveling, and being outdoors. She loves working with children and cannot wait to meet your family!
